I hear typos

Today I was on a call with a friend, just catching up - no agenda, simply talking about our work and what's happening for both of us right now.

I mentioned that one of my superpowers is my ability to hear typos when people speak - the "ums", the "ahs", the "you knows", the "likes" before every word and the "rights" at the end of every sentence. Mostly unconscious, but always distracting.

This resonated with my friend. She told me how, as a leadership coach, she is able to feel stress reactions - when her clients are coming from a place that projects negative energy and impacts their ability to lead authentically.

Similarly, when the executives and business leaders I work with speak with typos, it impacts their ability to get their message across. These auditory typos can take over and prevent their message and meaning from coming across clearly. Since so many of our conversations can be recorded at the click of a button, this is the perfect time to listen to yourself after the call is over and see if audio typos are getting in your way.

I'm happy to help if you need a second opinion. #communicatewithconfidence
